January 2014 Seminar

The Evangelical Lutheran Mission Society for the Chinese (ELMSC) will hold its First Annual Chinese Seminar on Scripture and Luther’s Small Catechism January 6-9, 2014 on the campus of Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne, Indiana. The seminar is designed especially for Mandarin-speaking North American Chinese Christian university students and scholars, but is also open to any serious Mandarin-speaking Bible student. Participants will study (in Mandarin Chinese) the basics of salvation, the Scriptural narrative of salvation, and the six chief parts of Luther’s Small Catechism. The presenters are all Mandarin-speaking pastors of the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod (LCMS) and the Lutheran Church – Canada (LCC). The registration fee is $150, and the society will make all efforts to cover all additional costs for participants, including transportation costs. Registration is limited to 20 participants. More detailed information about the seminar, including a tentative detailed schedule and names and backgrounds of the presenters, can be obtained by emailing the society:

Those interested in participating are asked to fill out a registration form (here) and send it with the $150 registration fee to the address below. As the registration form indicates, registrants are required to have their pastor or coordinator of the Christian organization in which they participate write a brief recommendation paragraph for the participant on the registration form.
